Card Making #1

As promised on my other blog, I am posting my cards.  I thought they turned out well.  These are the ones I made at my sis's place / class.

And you are so lucky tomorrow AJ's family comes, I will be busy,.... so I'm pre-posting this blog a day early! ha ha ha.
The puppy one - I decided to give this one to Monica as we walk occasionally together.  She's my older lady with her older dog... walks perfectly at my pace!  ha ha ha

Lastly made this cat one, was getting the hang of it by then:

Added a bit on the inside of the card:

At first I didn't want to make the rhino one as I didn't care for what she had written on her's.  But she had said could do whatever we wanted, so I looked around and came across the

Which I then added a stamping of these two inside -

This cat was the second one we made.  It was a bit more challenging, but still easy.  I decided to send this one to my friend Phyllis.  She's more of a dog person, but she has cats too.  Besides I thought she'd like the 'Life is messy' on the outside and the wording inside:

All in all a fun day.  Look forward to the Christmas Card making day.

Lines and Splash

Bit of a line pour.  Had tried something new with this.  Interesting.

This is one that I did at the old art class.  Surprising to me, a bit of a pour that I didn't know I was doing a pour.  AJ touched it when it was a bit wet, and I had to fix it at home then too.  The white/red was smaller at the start, still, think it's ok.

Sorry I forgot to post yesterday............

Moon Tide

I started this was a plan to add a dog.  When I got the blue and the round yellow 'sun' done, I just couldn't see or get the dog idea to work on it.  Left it for a few weeks, kept looking at the bend in the sun.  Thought, humm..... a sailboat would fit?  And made it into this:

Is it the moon or the sun?  Either way is fine.  Super simple picture, just wanted to paint something quick and easy one day.

Stamp and Woods

Short little post and picture.  When I went to my sis's for her art daisy day I got some stamps too.  I ordered 'wood' paper and hedge hog stamps.

I had an owl.  Made this.  In the end, I lost (I think I tossed it out with the garbage) one of the hedge hog stamps, so I used the skunk to marry with the remaining hog.

It didn't turn out as well as I thought it would.  Guess the picture in my head looked better then the outcome.

Back to the drawing (painting) board..............

There Had To Be CATS!

Love cats..... and dogs, but I am first, a cat person.

Here's a cute little cat I bought at the dollar store and painted.  Thought the gem as an eye was a nice touch.

Neat little back of the cat idea that I did at the art group.

This is a newer one that I did.  Added gems as 'paws' on the corner top and other corner bottom.

At the old house, I was walking the dog one day and the neigbour up the street, who does woodwork, had thrown out a cat cut out.  I of course, took it home and painted both sides.

A while ago I thought of painting a cat looking at the moon.  I had seen a picture similar and thought it would be neat to paint.  Here it is with the cat as an outline.  I left it like that for a while as I thought on it....

Then decided it would look better with the cat completely painted in.  Like it better this way.

After painting the canvass black for a while at the art group, I had no idea what to do with it.  I put a dot of gold down on the bottom, looked at it.  It made me think of a paw.  Then I thought... paws along the bottom.  Turned out.  Makes me smile.

Beach and Box

I know, I know!  I missed Thursday.  Working in the gardens.  I've been more involved with outside work then doing art so far.  And surprisingly I'm almost thru all my already done art work.  Can you believe it?

So, right now, I'm going to have to just post on Sundays I think.

This is a few of my new works.  I found 'Finnbar' art.  I don't know what else to call it.  It's basically textured items glued and painted onto a canvass.  Then added colour painted on.  It's work but I really like doing it.

This is the first one:

This took a long time, weeks to do.  I really like it!  So pleased with the outcome.

Here are close ups of the corners:

Next I tried doing a box.  This is the top.

Inside:  Has a star, leaf, round thing and pearls.

Will have to do more of this type of art.  Takes a while to do, but I still find it relaxing.

Lines Have It

Did an art pour a while ago but it didn't go well, and I ended up making a line in it.  Then I decided to add more to create a new picture within it.

This one is hard to see, but it's bluish black with purple.  All lined together.

This one I started with simple painting and wanted to put something else on it, but kinda thought it was done as is.

One of my favs from the old art class.  Painted the black, then thought I'd do a white line with shading.  By fluke there ended up a dark spot within the mountains, as I looked at it, I saw a person.  So I added a bit to it to bring her out.  It delights me.

Simple pour that I redid another pour on after it had dried as I didn't like the first one.  Added some lines of hearts to bring out the under colours.

This is a neat pour.  I had first put down some glue lines and then poured over them.  Used neon/brights.  Turned out well.
